Introduction to the Quest
The quest titled “Bring Blorbo the Shrewd 25 Hobgoblin Hides” is one of the most talked-about missions in the fantasy RPG community. Whether you’re a seasoned adventurer or a curious newbie, this guide will walk you through every step, from finding hobgoblins to impressing the mysterious Blorbo the Shrewd.
Where to Find Blorbo the Shrewd
Blorbo the Shrewd resides deep within the Shimmering Caverns, tucked behind a waterfall on the eastern ridge of the Howling Hills. Getting to him requires you to:
Complete the “Cavern Clearance” quest
Possess a minimum agility level of 35 to leap across the broken bridge
Carry the Amulet of Whispering Winds to unlock his chamber
He’s easily recognizable by his tall hat, glowing staff, and the unmistakable air of sarcasm.
The Role of Hobgoblins in the Quest
So why does Blorbo need hobgoblin hides? Lore-wise, these hides are crucial ingredients for crafting enchanted spellbooks bound in magically resistant leather. The hides hold residual chaotic energy that powers Blorbo’s arcane experiments. You’ll need exactly 25 pristine hobgoblin hides to satisfy his requirements.
How to Locate Hobgoblins
Here are the top spots to farm hobgoblins efficiently:
| Location | Level Range | Respawn Time |
|---|---|---|
| Crimson Swamps | 14-18 | 3 mins |
| Ravager’s Bluff | 20-24 | 5 mins |
| Bonecrack Quarry | 25-30 | 7 mins |
Use tracking skills or companions like Sniffles the Wolf to help locate them faster.
Best Gear for Farming Hobgoblins
To farm hobgoblins without breaking a sweat, equip:
Weapon: Silvered Greatblade (bonus damage vs beasts)
Armor: Woodland Vanguard Set (resistant to hobgoblin poison)
Accessories: Ring of Recovery + Pendant of Precision
Don’t forget to stock up on health potions and mana elixirs. Hobgoblins tend to gang up fast, so AOE damage is your best friend.
Strategies for Defeating Hobgoblins Efficiently
Here are a few combat strategies:
Kite and Cast: Keep moving while using ranged spells.
Crowd Control: Use snares or stuns to break up groups.
Backstab Bonus: Rogues get crit boosts on first strike.
Team Up: Two or more players can farm hides faster with rotations.
Hobgoblins are weak to fire and light-based damage, so load up accordingly.
How to Collect and Store Hobgoblin Hides
Each hide takes up 1 inventory slot. Here’s how to optimize:
Use Sack of Infinite Holding (available in Mage’s Bazaar)
Convert hides to bundles of 5 using a tanning kit
Deposit extras in your personal stash at major towns
Avoid letting hides rot—deliver them within 3 in-game days for best quality.
How Many Hides You Need and Why 25 Matters
Blorbo won’t accept anything less than 25 hides, and here’s why:
25 hides = enough material for 5 Spellbinding Codices
Unlocks “Apprentice of the Shrewd” title
Grants permanent boost to intelligence (+2)
Delivering fewer hides results in a failed quest, so double-check your count!
What Happens After Delivering the Hides
Once you deliver the goods:
Cutscene featuring Blorbo’s sarcasm and a magic explosion
Receive gold, XP, and exclusive loot: The Shrewd’s Satchel
Unlock new dialogue options and future quests
Your reputation with the Mystic Guild of Norgwyn also increases.

These quests expand the lore and earn you favor with Blorbo.
Lore Behind Blorbo the Shrewd
Blorbo is a half-elf, half-fae wizard known for his razor wit and strange demands. He was exiled from the Arcane Academy for conducting experiments that “tickled reality inappropriately.” Now, he serves as a mentor for chaotic magic users and collector of rare materials.
Tips for Solo vs Group Completion
Solo:
Use stealth or crowd control
Prioritize high DPS and mobility
Group:
Assign roles (tank, DPS, healer)
Use communication for sync kills
Both paths are viable, but groups farm faster.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
Bringing only 24 hides (yes, it’s happened!)
Using non-pristine hides (Blorbo rejects them)
Starting the quest without proper gear
Letting hides rot in your bag
